It's called "Russian Avant-Garde Art" and it is incredible. During art history classes in college, this was my favorite subject. Among its heavy hitters was El Lizzitsky, who is considered my many to be the founding father of modern graphic design. His PROUNS, which Lizzitsky described as an intermediary step between painting and architecture, are some of my favorite paintings. It is interesting to note that many of the artists in the Russian Avant-Garde were atheists who worshipped the innovation of the machine age, and often created work that was conceptually undergirded by their love of Socialism. Funny how I'm a Christian and yet are so drawn to these works. What I saw gave me a dose of good ol' gut-wrenching creative excitement. Today Logan is my favorite studio.
